Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegetarian-eating human.

While thinking of a new post to write, I was enjoying a delicious Vegan and gluten-free double chocolate muffin from Thrive Organic Kitchen and Cafe here in Toronto…

And then it hit me.

How did I get to this point?

Long story short, I’ve always been a sick child. From the ages of 6 to 12 and 14 to 17, I was in and out of the hospital for inexplicable stomach pains, with intense dehydration and non-stop vomiting. I am fairly certain I took every test possible and stayed in every room on the children’s floor… but more of that in another post.

I officially changed my diet to a gluten free diet about three years ago, after a recommendation from my doctors, when they discovered an intolerance. It worked for a bit but I still had stomach pains and that is when I voluntarily eliminated dairy as well. And now, I am also a vegetarian who is open to becoming Vegan!

QUICK DIET SUMMARY:

– Gluten-free (approx. 3 years)

– Dairy-free (approx. 2 years)

– Vegetarian (1 year coming up!)

It honestly changed my life. I used to wake up every morning with a heavy stomach and I was always grumpy. Now I feel more energized, and I am happier because my stomach is happy!
